Graphics Driver Failure Detected
Guild Wars has detected a graphics driver error. There are several steps you can take to help address this problem:
- Be certain that your video card meets the minimum requirements to play Guild Wars (ATI's Radeon 8500 series/NVIDIA’s GeForce 3 series or better).
- Check to see if you have the latest drivers installed for your video card. The latest drivers for supported video cards can be found at:
ATI: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894
NVIDIA: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
- If you currently have the latest video drivers installed, try reinstalling them.
To ensure that you properly reinstall your video drivers, we recommend that you take the following steps:
- In the Windows Control Panel, select "System." The "System Properties" dialogue box will appear.

- Select the "Device Manager" button. This will open the "Device Manager" dialogue box.

- Expand the "Display adapters" field and right click on your video card. Then, select "properties."

- In the video card specific dialogue box, select the "Driver" tab and click the "Uninstall" button.

- You will be asked to confirm the removal of this device. Select "OK," follow any further prompts, and restart your computer.

- Upon restarting, Windows will auto-detect your video card and the Installation Wizard will launch. Once the Wizard has completed its process, you can reinstall the video driver you have downloaded from the appropriate manufacturer.
- If this error persists, please contact the manufacturer of your video card to report the error and to request their support in resolving the matter.
